This request was for floral images in Platinum by Imogen Cunningham.
Magnolia Blossom, Tower of Jewels, 1925 Estate Stamped Platinum / Palladium Print 6 5/8 wide by 8 7/8 tall - mounted on 14 x 18 inch board $2,800 This print of the Magnolia Blossom presents the expanded tonal range of the
platinum process - beautifully showing detail in the shadows
as well as luminescent highlights in the leaves. |
False Hellebore 2, 1926 Estate Stamped Platinum / Palladium Print 5.75 wide by 6.25 high - mounted on 14 x 18 inch board $2,800 This False hellebore is one of my favorites -- the image of the leaves of
the False Hellebore against a grey background make it a print with rich
mid-tones, well-represented in the platinum process. |

Blossom of Water Hyacinth 2, late 1920s $2,800 This image in platinum is museum hinged-matted to the back of 4-ply archival mattboard, with an overmatt that comes to the edge of each side of the print. The black edges outside the image area is an indication of the platinum process - the edge of the emulsion that was exposed to light (which is covered by the overmatt.) This image has delicate tones and fine detail in the highlights, leading to black in the leaves of the Water Hyacinth. |
Tuberose, 1920s This print of the Tuberose is a perfect match for the platinum process - it
is a beautifully executed print with much of the visual information in the
mid-tones. |
